Easy Witch Hat Cookies

These Witch Hat Cookies are one of the easiest (and cutest) Halloween treats to make! It’s just an Oreo cookie topped with frosting, chocolate coated candy, and a Hershey’s kiss.

You can make these cookies so many different ways. Pretty much any cookie works as the base of the hat— you can use Oreo’s, Girl Scout cookies, or even homemade cookies. You can customize the “belt” and “buckle” based on your frosting and decoration choices. The frosting can be homemade or store-bought, any flavor, and any color. Plus, you can make the “buckle” with any small candy or something like frosting or sprinkles. All the personalized touches make this festive treat all the more fun!

How to Make Witch Hat Cookies

  1. Add food coloring to the frosting and mix until the desired color is achieved. I combined my vanilla frosting with red and yellow gel food coloring to get an orange color, but you can dye the frosting any color or even leave it unchanged.

  2. Put a dollop of frosting into the center of the cookie. I just used a spoon to apply the frosting, but any utensil (frosting tip, knife, etc) would work here.

  3. Press and gently twist an unwrapped Hershey’s kiss into the center of the frosting dollop. As you press down, the frosting will create a ring of color that is slightly larger than the Hershey’s kiss.

  4. Place one chocolate coated candy “buckle” on the outer band of frosting. I used yellow Reese’s pieces, but any small candy (M&M’s, mini starbursts, jelly beans, etc) would work here.

Whether you’re making a Halloween party dessert board, handing out treats as party favors, or just wanting to celebrate spooky season with something sweet, Witch Hat Cookies are the perfect pick!
